Launch & Recovery System For Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV)


International Submarine Engineering Research (ISER) develops fully submersible underwater vehicles to execute pre-programmed missions below the sea surface, such as seabed surveying. Hawboldt designed and manufactured a system to launch and recover (LARS) the AUV without requiring a boat or personnel to be in the water.


The LARS is required to safely deploy and capture various sizes and models of this technologically advanced research equipment in the changeable conditions of high-seas operation.


The Hawboldt design team collaborated effectively with ISER staff to create a novel LARS that meets all project criteria. The LARS has allowed ISERs client to extend AUV operations during high sea state conditions. The customized stern deployment design requires little operator training and minimal user maintenance.
