Hawboldt Industries was founded in 1906 to support the Atlantic fishery with new power equipment during the time when ships were converting from sails to engines. While the company has maintained its roots in the fishing industry, we have developed into a world-renowned designer, manufacturer and exporter of engineered marine equipment including launch & recovery systems for marine exploration, marine cranes for heavy lifting up to 150 tons, and deck equipment for workboats, patrol boats and recreational vessels.
Hawboldt Industries is a company within the Timberland Group. Along with other Timberland companies, our vision is to exceed customers’ expectations for quality engineered product solutions.
The company is based in Chester, Nova Scotia, Canada, south-west of the city of Halifax. Our facility is adjacent to Highway 103, connecting the shipbuilding areas of Nova Scotia’s south shore, and providing quick access to Halifax International Airport as well as the two international container terminals in the port of Halifax.
Hawboldt employs a highly qualified and diverse staff including certified trades personnel, project managers and a well-equipped team of professional engineers specialized in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic design.
Hawboldt custom designs products and systems to meet our customers’ specific operational requirements. These design requirements range from a single piece of equipment to entire ship deck equipment designs integrating complex deck equipment and hydraulic systems.
